Founded in 2011 by Shikha Grover and Vinita Adhikari, ILK debuted at Lakmé Fashion Week India and soon earned recognition from ELLE and the Grazia Young Fashion Awards.

Shaped by the founders’ distinct yet harmonious journeys, the brand draws from Vinita’s upbringing in Nainital where shifting light, natural textures, and the quiet rhythm of mountain life nurtured her artistic sensibility and her years studying at NIFT, Delhi.

It is equally informed by Shikha’s New Delhi roots, her experience leading creative teams at an eminent fashion house, and her life between India and the Netherlands. A cancer thriver, Shikha has been a part of ILK with resilience, patience, and deep intention, embracing slow fashion as both philosophy and practice where time, care, and craftsmanship are essential.

“We love building layers through texture and creating a base, adding abstract motifs, then bringing it to life with surface detailing. We feel each piece should feel like an art form, where everyone can find their own story".

texture & surfaces

At ILK, fabric becomes the canvas and texture our language. We weave simple textiles through intricate techniques like smocking, applique, and threadwork, transforming them into rich tactile couture pieces through the hands of seasoned artisans.

real. sustainable. timeless

We primarily use pure silks and cottons that make each garment timeless, breathable, with hand feel that speaks of quiet luxury. Our garments are made-to-size, to be worn and treasured as pieces of art.
